Autumn - the start of the traditional English Game Season

Tasting of Game Menu - Venison, Quail & Partridge

New season Scottish mussels

The UK boasts a wide and varied selection of Game, from that well known brightly coloured game bird, the cock pheasant, to those elusive English Partridge, not to be confused with the French Red-Legged Partridge often seen on the arable lands of Eastern England, to the 'rocket propelled' moorland grouse. Game has been eaten throughout the UK for centuries, recipes for which are widespread and number the hundreds and hundreds.

'Celebrate Game’ Menu  –  with the ‘Glorious Twelfth’ long over, our chefs at the Long Melford Swan thought they’d like to celebrate the East Anglian game season, and between them have created one of the most delicious ‘Game Menus’ to be found on the East of England fine dining trail.
